Independent Supervision

Togetherness Independent Supervision creates pathways for children to remain connected to the other parent while providing a safe and supportive space.

Togetherness Family Supervisors are referred to as “Independent” because they are professionals that are removed from the family conflict and who can therefore observe interactions between a parent and child from a neutral perspective.

The role of a Togetherness Supervisor is to remain non-subjective while they listen to parent-child conversations and watch interactions, and then document their observations for the compilation of a Family Supervision Report.

Reasons for supervised time arrangements vary. It may be that professional support is deemed beneficial to help re-establish a parent-child relationship after a significant period of no contact.

It could also be that a parent-child have never had an opportunity to form a relationship and therefore, professional intervention is required to support the child while they develop of an emotional connection to the other parent.
